Cathy McIntire: Newborn, Georgia, United States; I knew when I was pretty young that I wanted to be an artist. As a child I took piano lessons and one day, while waiting for my lesson, I was drawing a picture of a horse. After looking at the sketch, my teacher told me to forget the music and concentrate on the art. I have over 30 years of professional experience in the arts. I began my career as a graphic artist and spent several years as manager for an Atlanta graphic arts studio. In 1993 I made the commitment to concentrate all my efforts on painting. My efforts have earned me Signature status in two professional painting societies, inclusion in regional and national juried exhibitions, and participation in numerous gallery exhibits in the Southeast. I am part of a gallery with several other artists in the Greensboro – Lake Oconee area of Georgia named, appropriately, Art of Oconee.
